Icon2 FOX Vert Quarter Window Repair 🔧

Finally, got around to doing the Quarter Window repair on the FOX.
This is a MOD that ALL Fox VERT owners will have to do, not a matter of 'if', but a matter of 'when'.

Ford, in their wisdom, decided to make the mount for the Quarter Window rod out of Plastic and all of them will FAIL, due to age and repeated use, the plastic will fatigue, crack and eventually fall apart.
The remedy is replacing them with Billet ones from LMR https://lmr.com/item/LRS-29530A-KIT/...uide-Resto-Kit, that will never fail.

This Mod is a complete PITA and the entire "Meccano Set" that is your rear window assembly, needs to come out.

Once you get the Window and Rod out you will need to drill out the rivets to get the old plastic mount off.

    ^^
The new Billet ones screw on instead of the rivets and while you have the windows apart, clean everything, replace the window guides and lubricate all mechanisms, I even gave the bracket a shot of Ford Black, even though this part will not be seen. LOL!

    ^^
Window/Rod assembly and new Billet Mount installed.

Put everything back together and leave the Window and Rod assembly bolts loose, do not tighten everything up until the window is adjusted and aligned properly with the top up.

    ^^

After this repair, The Quarter Windows will fit great and will not move like a flag in the wind, they are now rock solid.

    Icon2 Fox Windshield Weatherstrip

Finished up the remaining weatherstrip in the FOX.

Make sure you clean and prep the surface. Get all the old adhesive sh\te off and clean with alcohol.

    ^^

Decided to use this Black GOOP stuff. It really sticks and stays pliable after it sets, it does not dry out.
Spread the adhesive on the weatherstrip and in the channel, wait 'till tacky and install. Work fast.

Now the weatherstrip is done, fired 'er up and drove up to Port Perry to get the New Top. Going with Blk Canvas instead of the Factory Vinyl.
